UNESCO: Memphis and its Necropolis – the Pyramid Fields from Giza to Dahshur

Grand Egyptian Museum – Main Collection – Giza, Egypt

The main exhibition halls of the Grand Egyptian Museum house one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of ancient Egyptian artifacts ever assembled. Located near the pyramids of Giza, the museum was designed to present the history of Egypt’s civilization in a series of galleries spanning more than five thousand years of history.

Among the highlights of the collection are the extraordinary treasures of Tutankhamun, discovered in his tomb in 1922. These artifacts—including jewelry, ceremonial objects, statues, and the famous golden funerary mask—provide a vivid glimpse into the wealth and artistry of Egypt’s New Kingdom.

Together the galleries of the Grand Egyptian Museum bring to life the cultural, religious, and artistic achievements of one of the world’s most influential ancient civilizations.
