Exploring the Map
This interactive map serves as a geographic field guide to the portfolio collection, allowing sites to be explored spatially as well as thematically. Each pin represents a photographed location and links directly to the corresponding portfolio page, making the map both a visual index and a navigation tool for the broader archive.
The filters above the map allow the collection to be narrowed by several layers of geography and subject. Region groups sites by broad geographic area, Country identifies the national setting where relevant, State / Place allows more specific refinement within a region or country, Type distinguishes the general character of each site, and Itinerary groups locations that belong to the same journey or portfolio sequence.
These filters may be used individually or in combination. For example, selecting Europe under Region and France under Country will isolate French sites within the European portion of the collection, while adding an itinerary filter makes it possible to follow a specific journey across multiple sites. The portfolio count updates automatically as filters are applied, and the colored pins provide an additional visual guide to site type. Selecting a pin opens a preview and direct link to the full portfolio page.
