Montreux – Switzerland

Montreux lies along the eastern shore of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) in southwestern Switzerland, surrounded by vineyards and steep alpine slopes. The town enjoys a mild climate due to its protected position between the lake and the Alps, making it a popular resort destination for centuries.

The lakeside promenade offers sweeping views across Lake Geneva toward the mountains of France on the opposite shore. Nearby stands the famous Château de Chillon, a medieval castle built on a small rocky island along the lake.

Montreux is also known for its cultural events, including the internationally renowned Montreux Jazz Festival, which has attracted musicians and visitors from around the world.
