Kefalonia – Greece
The mountainous island of Kefalonia lies in the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea west of mainland Greece. Known for its dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and picturesque villages, the island offers some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the Greek archipelago.
Throughout its long history Kefalonia has been influenced by a variety of cultures, including the Venetians, who governed the island for several centuries. Remains of historic fortifications and traditional villages reflect this layered heritage.
Today Kefalonia remains one of the most scenic destinations in the Ionian Islands.
