Ahu Tahai – Easter Island
The ceremonial complex of Tahai Ceremonial Complex lies near the modern town of Hanga Roa. The site includes several restored ahu platforms and moai statues that illustrate the ceremonial traditions of the Rapa Nui people.
One of the most distinctive statues at Tahai is a moai that retains reconstructed coral eyes, offering a rare glimpse of how the statues originally appeared when they were erected centuries ago. The site also features nearby foundations of ancient houses and ceremonial structures.
Because of its location along the coast and its beautifully restored monuments, Ahu Tahai is one of the most accessible and evocative archaeological sites on Easter Island.
