Zadar – Croatia
Zadar sits on a narrow peninsula extending into the Adriatic Sea along Croatia’s Dalmatian coast. The city has been inhabited for more than two thousand years and preserves layers of history from the Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, and Austrian periods.
Within the old town, Roman streets and ancient walls remain visible alongside medieval churches and Venetian defensive structures. One of the city’s most famous landmarks is the Roman Forum, which dates back to the 1st century BC and forms the historic center of the peninsula.
The waterfront offers sweeping views across the Adriatic and nearby islands, and modern installations such as the Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun blend contemporary design with the city’s ancient maritime setting.
