Mount Wellington – Hobart, Tasmania
The rugged peak of Mount Wellington, known to the local Aboriginal community as kunanyi, rises dramatically above the city of Hobart. The mountain reaches more than 1,200 meters above sea level and dominates the skyline of southern Tasmania.
A winding road leads to the summit where visitors are rewarded with sweeping views across Hobart, the Derwent River, and the surrounding mountains and coastline. The upper slopes often experience rapidly changing weather, sometimes even dusted with snow during the winter months.
Mount Wellington provides one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Tasmania.
