Iglesia de Santo Domingo – Lima, Peru
The historic Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo is one of the oldest religious complexes in Lima. Founded during the 16th century, the church and monastery played an important role in the early colonial history of Peru.
The complex is associated with several important religious figures, including Rose of Lima, the first saint born in the Americas. Its distinctive pink tower rises above the surrounding streets and has become one of the recognizable landmarks of Lima.
