Glamis Castle – Scotland
The magnificent Glamis Castle stands among rolling countryside in eastern Scotland and ranks among the most famous castles in the country. Dating back to the 14th century, the castle has served as the ancestral home of the Lyon family, the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne.
Glamis Castle is also closely connected to the British royal family, as it was the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Its fairy-tale towers and ornate architecture have made it one of the most photographed castles in Scotland.
The castle is also associated with the setting of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, further adding to its legendary status in Scottish history.
