Arusha – Tanzania
The city of Arusha lies in northern Tanzania at the base of Mount Meru, not far from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Because of its central location near many of East Africa’s most famous national parks, Arusha serves as a major gateway for travelers heading on safari.
The city is surrounded by fertile agricultural land and coffee plantations, reflecting the region’s favorable climate and volcanic soils. Arusha also functions as an important administrative and commercial center in northern Tanzania.
For many visitors, the city marks the beginning or end of journeys through the wildlife reserves of northern Tanzania.
