Emir Abdelkader Mosque – Constantine, Algeria
The Emir Abdelkader Mosque is one of the largest and most important mosques in Algeria. Named after Emir Abdelkader, a prominent 19th-century leader who resisted French colonial expansion, the mosque stands as a symbol of national identity and Islamic scholarship.
The complex includes a vast prayer hall, twin minarets rising high above the city, and facilities associated with the nearby Islamic university. Its architecture blends traditional Islamic design with modern construction.
Today the mosque serves as both a religious center and a landmark honoring one of Algeria’s most respected historical figures.
