Ålesund – Norway

The coastal town of Ålesund is famous for its striking Art Nouveau architecture. After a devastating fire in 1904 destroyed much of the town, Ålesund was rebuilt in a distinctive architectural style that gives the city its unique character today.

Colorful buildings with decorative towers and curved façades line the harbor, creating one of the most picturesque waterfronts in Scandinavia. The town is also surrounded by dramatic landscapes of islands, mountains, and fjords.

Ålesund serves as an important gateway to some of Norway’s most famous fjords along the western coast.
