Kihihi – Uganda
The town of Kihihi lies in southwestern Uganda near the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in Africa. The town serves as a gateway for travelers heading into the dense rainforest in search of mountain gorillas.
Surrounded by rolling hills, farmland, and forested valleys, Kihihi marks the transition between Uganda’s agricultural countryside and the dense rainforest of Bwindi. Small lodges and camps in the region provide access to gorilla trekking routes within the park.
From here visitors begin their journeys into one of the most biologically rich rainforests in the world.
