Black Forest – Baden-Württemberg, Germany
The Black Forest (Schwarzwald) stretches across southwestern Germany along the eastern side of the Upper Rhine Valley, forming one of the most famous mountain landscapes in the country. Dense evergreen forests, rolling hills, and small villages define this region, which lies just east of Freiburg.
During the winter months the forested mountains are often dusted with snow, creating a classic Central European winter landscape.
