Algiers Great Mosque – Algiers, Algeria
The Djamaa el Djazaïr is one of the most prominent modern landmarks in Algiers. Completed in the early 21st century, the mosque complex is among the largest in Africa and features one of the tallest minarets in the world.
The design blends traditional Islamic architectural elements with contemporary engineering, creating a vast prayer hall and expansive courtyard overlooking the Mediterranean coast. The towering minaret serves as both a religious symbol and a striking feature of the city’s skyline.
Today the Great Mosque stands as an important religious and cultural center in Algeria’s capital.
