Aberdeen

Aberdeen – Scotland

The coastal city of Aberdeen stands along the northeastern coast of Scotland where the North Sea meets the mouth of the River Dee. Often called the “Granite City,” Aberdeen is known for its distinctive buildings constructed from locally quarried gray granite.

Founded in the Middle Ages, the city developed into an important trading port and later became a center of the North Sea oil industry. Historic streets, universities, and harbor districts reflect the city’s long maritime heritage.

Today Aberdeen combines historic architecture with modern economic and cultural life.
