The historic village of Evandale sits along the South Esk River just south of Launceston. Established during the early 19th century, Evandale preserves one of the most complete collections of Georgian-era buildings in Tasmania.
Many of the village’s sandstone structures date back nearly two centuries, giving the town a distinctly historic character. Quiet streets, traditional inns, and carefully preserved houses reflect the colonial heritage of early European settlement in the region.
Today Evandale remains one of Tasmania’s most charming historic towns.
