This is the place where all my ancestors came to the New World! It is Port Royal, in modern day Nova Scotia. It was once part of Acadie (in French) or Acadia (in English). While Port Royal was first settled in 1604 (yes, that’s right, it is before Jamestown was settled), my ancestors arrived in 1632.
